International Excellence Scholarship at Alfred State College of Technology

Alfred State College of Technology – USA is currently inviting applications from academically qualified international students with exceptional academic achievement and potentials for International Excellence Scholarship. This scholarship is available for undergraduate students who wish to enroll in a degree program at the University in USA for 2020/2021 academic session.

These scholarships are only available to new students beginning their studies in August who will live in Alfred State residence halls. International students entering Alfred State through agents or special articulation agreements may not be eligible for these scholarships.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria: Candidates are expected to posses the following eligibility criteria for the International Excellence Scholarship at Alfred State College of Technology

  • Applicants must be international students.
  • Students admitted into undergraduate degree program.
  • The award is available for undergraduate courses offered at the University.
  • Students enrolling full time in the Honours program in the semester for which the scholarship is awarded.
  • Applicants must have a High school certificate or equivalent.
  • Candidates must be highly motivated, responsible, and able to work independently in a structured manner and has good interpersonal and communication skill.
  • Applicants must hold an offer for a full-time program at Alfred State College of Technology, USA
  • Application process based on merit and evidence of leadership.
  • English Language Requirement: Applicants are required to provide evidence of meeting the Alfred State College of Technology’s minimum English language proficiency requirements.

Application Procedures for International Excellence Scholarship at Alfred State College of Technology

How-to-Apply

Complete all steps below. Recommended deadline dates are June 15 for an August start, or November 15 for a January start. Print off all forms and mail originals to:

Submit evidence of financial support, including:

The International Student Financial Statement/Form FSA-4 (pdf); and

An official bank statement (copies are not acceptable) on bank letterhead. The bank statement must indicate that the applicant or sponsor has sufficient funds to pay for the first year of study in the United States.

Submit the appropriate academic records from all secondary and post-secondary institutions you have attended, including:

Official transcripts

Matriculation certificates

Mark sheets and/or diplomas

Academic records must be official. A photocopy or a fax of a record without a fresh ink signature is not considered official. If the transcripts are not in English, have them translated into English and notarized/certified.

Submit official TOEFL, IELTS, or PEARSON score report from the testing center (Alfred State’s TOEFL school code is 2522).

Submit official SAT or ACT scores if applicable. Standardized test score (ACT or SAT) results are for some scholarship considerations, and for those interested in participating in intercollegiate athletics. When multiple SAT score reports are submitted, the highest composite score (critical reading and math) is used.

Submit at least one academic letter of reference written in English, including a valid email address to contact the referee.

Submit a copy of a valid passport.

Submit a $50 USD non-refundable application fee in the form of a money order or cashier’s check. Pay to the order of Alfred State. Applicants may also wire money utilizing Flywire. Your application will not be processed until payment is received.

Once an international student is accepted, an I-20 form is mailed with the acceptance letter to allow the student to apply for a student visa.
