The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is offering five scholarships for full MSc fees from the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission for the following distance learning programmes to start October 2020.
- MSc Clinical Trials
- MSc Epidemiology
- MSc Infectious Diseases
- MSc Public Health
Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships are offered to citizens from low middle-income Commonwealth countries.
These scholarships are funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID), with the aim of contributing to the UK’s international development aims and wider overseas interests, supporting excellence in UK higher education, and sustaining the principles of the Commonwealth.
Worth of Award
They provide full tuition fees and all other compulsory costs of studying a UK Master’s programme by distance learning. This includes the full cost of any residential components of a course.
Eligibility
- Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person
- Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country
- Hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) standard; a lower qualification and sufficient relevant experience may be considered in certain cases
- Be unable to afford to study your chosen course without this scholarship
Successful candidates will be selected from those who have been offered a place on one of the distance learning MSc programmes and whose applications clearly demonstrate the following:
- how their work experience aligns with the distance learning MSc programme they wish to study;
- how acquiring the MSc award would be essential to further developing their career;
- how the skills and qualification obtained from their distance learning studies would benefit the institution at which they work; and
- how the skills and qualification would impact on the development of their home country.
