Australian Government Research Training Programme Stipend Scholarship at QUT 2021

The Queensland University of Technology in Australia is inviting applications for the Australian Government Research Training Programme Scholarships in 2021.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified students to apply for an Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarships to undertake Higher Degrees by Research (HDR) at Curtin University. The purpose of the RTP Scholarship is to attract top-quality postgraduate students to the University so they can receive high-quality research training that will contribute to the research and educational excellence of the university.

The Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend (International) is a prestigious scholarship, funded by the federal government to provide financial support to exceptional students.

The number of scholarships offered varies from year to year.

Worth of Award

You’ll receive:

      • a scholarship, indexed annually ($28,092 for 2020). The scholarship is for living costs for up to 2 years for masters students and 3 years for PhD and doctoral students.

You can also apply for:

      • a $420 (masters by research), or $840 (PhD) thesis allowance after submitting your thesis.

International students will also receive:

  • an Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Fees Offset (International).

Eligibility

The Australian Government requires you to:

  • be an international student enrolled in an accredited research degree (HDR course of study) at and Australian higher education provider (HEP)
  • not be receiving income from another source to support your general living costs while studying, if that income is greater than 75% of your RTP stipend rate. Income not related to your course of study or income received for you course of study but not for the purposes of supporting general living costs is not to be taken into account.

If you also hold an Australian Government RTP Fees Offset (International) scholarship, you must not be receiving an equivalent award or scholarship from the Commonwealth that’s designed to offset research degree (HDR) fees.

By 30 October 2020, you must also:

  • meet the English language proficiency requirements
  • apply via a QUT agent, if required. Check if you need to use an official QUT representative to apply (PDF file, 75.8 KB).

How to Apply

You must register your interest for a scholarship when you apply for your course by completing the ‘Scholarship application’ section of the research degree application form.

Indicate on your application that you want to be considered for a scholarship as part of our annual scholarship round.

If you have already applied for admission and hold a current offer of admission or have been approved a deferral of admission, and you want to be considered in the annual scholarship round, register your interest by contacting the Research Students Centre.

Deadline: You must register your interest via email by October 30, 2020.
